VENTRILO: Changes (for the better) at Lost in Space Hosting, Inc.

05/18/2008 00:00

2008 is the year of major changes here at Lost in Space Hosting, Inc. Coming up the rest of this year we will be moving all of our United States locations to new hardware and networks as well, all to make the service even better than it is today.

First up is Los Angeles. We will be moving to the Mzima network there, which is well known for a GREAT network around the Los Angeles area. The Los Angeles servers are ready for a Monday morning migration (May 19, 2008 at 05:00am PDT - 07:00am PDT).  This means everyone's IP Addresses will be changing. We will keep the hostnames the same for a transition period (until July 1, 2008), but moving forward we will be using new hostnames. The server hostnames will be officially changing (from voice250, voice251 and voice252 to lax01, lax02 and lax03).

OLD NAME: voice250.lostinspacehosting.com
NEW NAME: lax01.lostinspacehosting.com
NEW IP: 69.147.235.68

OLD NAME: voice251.lostinspacehosting.com
NEW NAME: lax02.lostinspacehosting.com
NEW IP: 69.147.235.69

OLD NAME: voice252.lostinspacehosting.com
NEW NAME: lax03.lostinspacehosting.com
NEW IP: 69.147.235.70

All other locations within the United States are currently expected to be migrating into the ColoCrossing infrastructure. They are a very high quality network provider that has built their infrastructure for speed and reliability. Our newest Chicago and Dallas servers (chi01 and dfw01) are already on their network and performing wonderfully. All servers (except the new ones) will also be renamed. This will make it much easier for everyone to know what location their server is hosted in.
